#NMOS14 in Durham, NC

#nmos14

I learned about the National Moment of Silence rally on social media and was a bit skeptical about it at first.  Don’t get me wrong, I am angry about what can be described as black genocide happening in America, but I thought that this movement would be just another one of those “marching” type of movements.  I can’t speak for any other cities but in Durham, this rally was good.  Shout out to the people who organized it.  We had our moment of silence, but after that, the speakers helped raised awareness about what was going on.  Best of all, there was a plan to continue to have meetings, with one coming up next week.  We were encouraged to connect with one another, and to continue to come out and put our minds together to come up with real solutions.  People were out connecting with one another.  I learned that Durham has some strong people that are fighting, and a lot of people that want to help.  How did the #NMOS14 go in other cities?  Was there a real call to action such as the one at Durham? Please enjoy some of the photos from event below.
